Combatting Antisemitism Conference hosted by the Office of Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita

9/20/2024

Since October 7, 2023, when Hamas horrifically attacked the State of Israel, antisemitic behavior across the United States and our state has sharply increased. Some of the more alarming actions include riots on college campuses, protests in the streets, and threats against Jewish people on social media. This continuing legal education and law enforcement training is designed to increase awareness of antisemitism and educate on how to combat such disturbing conduct. It will provide 1) insight on antisemitism in Indiana; 2) an explanation with case studies on antisemitic extremism and how it is becoming an “acceptable” extremist ideology in America; and 3) an overview of the First Amendment and its implications for antisemitic rhetoric.

Speakers

Todd Rokita, Attorney General

Allon Friedman, President of the Jewish American Affairs Committee of Indiana (Begins about 1:31)

Dr. Lorenzo Vidino, Director of the Program on Extremism at George Washington University

James Barta, Solicitor General at the Office of the Attorney General
